| I haven't had a holiday in this country for about 20 years and I have never stopped in Blackpool before.
Booked a 2 day break at "the Castle" and found it extremely pleasurable.
The staff were very helpful and polite, the food was enjoyable and the room was very clean. Even the drinks were of a reasonable price at Copper Face Jacks.
Evening entertainment was appropriate for the clientele present (young and old, single and families).
I would have no hesitation in returning to the hotel for another stay.

| When we arrived I could have easily gone back home.
Found that the hotel was in a bad state as regards the decor and carpets. The furniture had seen better days; one of the draws in our room was broken. Our room was small; the scenery from the bedroom window was just a bear wall, the walls were very thin could hear people arguing and swearing. We were very disappointed. Carpets in the bar area were filthy and sticky. The first morning had to eat our breakfast in the bar area which I found very unpleasant, kids coming down in the dressing gowns, night clothes, walking and running around in bare feet which was a total put off. And taking their food up to their rooms. One person had her dog in the restaurant, which was unhygienic. Breakfast you had to queue, toast was always cold and not really fresh.
The Dinner wasn't too bad, could have had a more variety, e.g. a salad bar.
The location was far from the town area, but you could get one bus that the took you straight. There. Entrainment was average, drinks pricey.

| We booked before we read reviews and were worried about what we would find but have been pleasantly surprised. Maybe we were in a different part of the hotel to those who have written poor reviews but we found the room was clean, bedding and towels were clean and fresh. The food was okay, admittedly not 4* but then we didn't pay 4* prices. We found all the staff were helpful and polite. The pool, spa and steam room were brilliant. The hotel is looking a little 'tired' but then most hotels in the resort look that way, |

| My husband booked this as a last minute break and THEN he read the reviews! We were very worried about what we would find. We have been to Blackpool many times and stayed in lots of different places. However we were very pleasantly surprised. Normally we like to stay at Hilton Hotels but they had no availability for when we wanted to travel. Now this certainly isn't comparable to a Hilton Hotel but you do get what you pay for and what we got was a clean room with plenty of clean towels every day. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was fine, busy but no queuing, not a huge selection but something for everyone and tasty enough (my son and I are both fussy eaters and we were happy). The entertainment was good and there was a nice atmosphere in the public areas, anyone I spoke to was delighted with THE VALUE FOR MONEY and that's what this hotel is about. And come on, it's Blackpool for heaven's sake! Don't go to Blackpool for an upmarket holiday, Blackpool is fun, friendly and a wee bit tacky and this hotel is very Blackpool. I loved the faded grandeur of the hotel because that is one of the many things I love about Blackpool! |
